Java Developer
Location: New york, NY, 10001
Description:
Java developer to work primarily with a dynamic Web portal on both the server-side and client-side. The candidate must be a fast learner, self-starter and have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Requires strong skills in XML/XSLT and Javascript and some Java Server Pages experience.
In addition to the above, the candidate must have development expertise in at least one of the following areas:
(1) SQL programming. Creating and maintaining SQL database application code, programming interfaces using and configuring JDBC, ODBC, DAO. Hands-on experience with SQL databases including configuration, troubleshooting, T-SQL, stored procedures and triggers. Integrate XML templates with back-end API business functions. Knowledge of data modeling and referential integrity is expected.
(2) The IBM Lotus Sametime Java Toolkit. Experience with Lotus Domino is a plus.
(3) IBM WebSphere. Experience developing WebSphere Portlets is a plus.
Required Skills & Background
- Minimum five years software development work experience.
- Solid Java development skills necessary. Sun Certification is a plus. XML, XLST and HTML are must-have skills. JavaScript, CSS Stylesheets are a plus.
- Experience in one or more server-side web script developer languages like Python, Perl, ASP, JSP is a plus.
- Skills working with relational databases are valuable.
- Software development experience with Lotus Sametime Java Toolkit is a plus.
- Hands-on SQL server Administration skills, including backup, restore, replication, logging, scheduling, DTS, etc. are a plus.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and CRM applications is a plus.
- Previous experience with reporting implementation, distribution and data integration is a plus.
- Familiarity with OLAP and data warehousing concepts is a plus.
